Scientists have made clear that the elevated heat in the US was being amplified by the human-caused climate crisis

July was the hottest month ever recorded in the US, with repeated, scorching heatwaves across much of the country helping shatter all previous monthly temperature records stretching back over the full 132 years of reliable measurements.

Last month’s average temperature was 3.3F (1.8C) higher than the 20th century average for the contiguous United States, which excludes Alaska and Hawaii, according to new data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (Noaa).

This means the month was the hottest July, and hottest of all months, in records that go back to 1895. It surpasses previous high marks set in July 1936, in the teeth of Dust Bowl conditions, and July 2012.

    No one expects you to be an expert on every other countries political system…

    But come on bro, you think America is a democracy and the people get what they vote for?

    Like, even “voted for” as in popular vote doesn’t matter.

    States like Cali that always go D and send all their electorate college votes, don’t get the turnout they would if votes actually counted.

    What you did is like telling an abused spouse:

    Ignoring the wife was 16 and pregnant at the wedding and the baby’s not born yet.

    Just completely ignorant and hateful, more like trump than you’ll ever know, including the false feeling of superiority

      the only reason I give a fuck about americans and their fucked up monarchy (that they think is a democracy) is because they insist on fucking up other countries. Diesel is over $10 per us gallon here. americans voted him in twice and tried desperately to vote him in 2020 as well, so i dont buy any excuses that its not their fault.

      Not to intrude too much from a different angle here, but seeing US politics and the messed up 2 party system and such, the more I looked the more horrified I was. Compared to e.g. European countries diverse systems with several parties all over the spectrum in parliament there’s just no comparison or even democracy.

      And once we Europeans say this, I get flak and aggression.

      (so if I understand your post correctly interculturally we basically should agree since I am saying you don’t really have much choice in politics)
