Well this is beyond absurd.
The Death Adder was objectively a damn fine mouse. So why do I not recommend it? Because of the software that requires an online account to change settings.
Also, if I wanted “artisanal keycaps” I’d go on etsy and buy from actual artists.
It is odd when companies behave like monopolies when they aren’t. Cisco is another one but they just have those weird niche audiences that buy into it
There’s a FOSS reimplementation of the Razer configuration software on Linux. Openrazer is the driver package and polychromatic is the GUI to configure it
Dont worry. It’s Razer, so you’ll only have to deal with it for 3 months until it breaks.
Why would you want to declare your allegiance to some of the most shitty and overpriced gaming hardware on the market?
‘a mark of belonging within the Cult of Razer’
For anyone interested in this, they sell red flags at Home Depot for a lot cheaper.
I have two questions:
- Where can I find the .stl?
- Who wants one in which colors?
Bahahaha that’s was my first thought. Fuck this I’ll print it in resin and it’ll be damn near identical.
Could you elaborate for us not in the know?
3d printer go brrr.
Just gen AI it. Probably what they did
Outside of razer making garbage quality accessories: who the fuck would put that on F12?
When does anyone even press F12? Obviously this thing should go on the escape key.
You helped me figure it out, if you actually press it it will just break in 6 months so this makes it seem higher quality as you constantly cycle it between keyboards
It is the default screenshot key for Steam, so many use it often for that.
For when you want to “hack” websites.
Imagine not using caps lock as escape, this is obviously meant for the ‘_’ snake key.
I press f12 and break a weirdly large amount… They make fantastic macro buttons. Nothing else uses them and you never hit them by accident.
(ctrl-)f12 and f9 are my first picks for macro assignments too
Everyone with a 3d printer is pissing themselves rn
“Artisan”
Nothing says artisan like a mass produced piece of plastic stamped out of a mold by the thousand.
When I think of razer what comes to mind is overpriced peripherals that break and have annoying software to set them up.
I prefer qmk supported keyboards so I can use via or vial to setup my keyboard.
The first thing I think of, and the only tangental history I have with the brand was Nerdcubed’s main computer dying, opening a brand new backup Razer laptop he’d bought for such an occasion, taking it out of the box for the first time that day, and running into a “Your computer’s fucked, mate” screen after hitting the power button
I have owned several razer products, mostly mice and they have all been utter overpriced hype garbage.
Only thing good was that they had a good selection of large ambidextrous mice. No idea if that is still the case
mine has the scroll wheel just jumping all over the place whenever I try to scroll. Only two months old
There is really only one product from razer that I would recommend. And that’s the Kitsune.
It is their high end leverless fight stick. But even that is a tough recommendation, as you can get cheaper, 99% as good options for half the price. Or something equally expensive from vitrix or or companies.
No I do not want to spend that much money to display allegiance to this shit company.
90 usd? For a keycap?
Grift. Con. Bullshit. Shenanigans.
Cult.
It is a mark of belonging to a cult, alright…
How to make money off of mentally ill rich kids I guess
This will sell out instantly
