I think she was a victim of a horrible act and she thought this was a great way to bring attention to this and all other horrible acts perpetuated by evil men and for what its worth it clearly worked as OP is bringing this to everyone’s attention. I feel bad for her and I applaud OP. In agreement with every one of my other comments though what I struggle with is calling herself an artist because immediately this makes me think she is an entertainer and diminishes her position.

It’s been brought to my attention I misunderstood art which is probably fair however when almost every entertainer represents themselves as an “artist” then it’s not an illogical conclusion.

She could have choosen one of many other words but instead choose one that was likely to lead to the same conclusion I came too which is all I am saying.

I’m most definitely not wrong… My comment 100% did not cast any doubt on the victim. I believe her and truly believe she was wronged… I questioned the words she used to describe herself. I don’t understand art and quite honestly as an engineer I have no interest in understanding art… But my original point stands if you’re going to describe yourself as something that is likely to be misunderstood you should choose different words.

As for the dense OP… She will go on to live a miserable life and I can’t do anything about that.

This feels off to me… describing yourself as a “performance artist” about something that happened to you… Maybe I don’t understand art but to me art is for entertainment… so was your performance for entertainment or was it truly to protest because entertainment and protest IMO don’t go together.

First off I’m not a Catholic but this is beyond mischaracterization of what they did…

They made it clear this was “not confession” or “intending to imitate a confession”
They also make it very clear that “due to space limitations they repurposed a confessional booth”

The point of this booth was to be a place for people to ask questions about the bible and the “avatar” they choose was Jesus after considering other saints, theologians or people and ultimately decided on Jesus.

This was put up in partnership with a local university

While I support the former sentiment Cuba was a horrible horrible place. You should be far more specific with “solidarity with Cuba” because I initially read that and it seemed to me you support political executions, nationalizing property, and stamping down free speech.
