Have pity on the Anglophones. Our media are completely captured by vested interests and we’re continually lied to about the reasons for war and many other things. We mistake the migrants crossing our borders for enemies when the real enemy is the billionaire class. We’re told there is no money for healthcare and education but there always seems to be money for bombs and spying. My advice to young people is to learn Mandarin, those people are building a future while the west bombs their way to irrelevance.

Technology@lemmy.world•Internet shutdown in Iran is now the longest in world historyEnglish
1·3 days agoOne thing that seemingly doesn’t rely on the internet is Iran’s masterful ability to make the American bullies look criminally stupid. It’s already hugely impressive, imagine what they could do with a bit of WiFi.
Assuming school is the correct place for children. I think a lot of the problems in a classroom are due to the way teaching is done. The expectation is that the kids will sit quietly like adults while someone drones on with material that is boring and completely irrelevant to their lives. When the kids reject this garbage they are indicted as delinquent. It could be looser so the kids can focus on their strengths and feel good about themselves. Learning has always been a source of joy for me but it rarely happened in a classroom. I’m standing with the bozo on this one, this smug teacher is probably an absolute bore. The parents sound like cunts as well.

415·4 days agoApproximately 0.1 years out of 3 billion years, truly a crisis. Precisely what people occupied themselves with for 3 billion years before the internet existed we may never know. Some claim they spent quite considerable time as single cell organisms, then multicellular aquatic organisms, until the species reached it’s apogee, a flabby orange real estate pedo fraudster.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What’s a “life hack” that actually made your life worse?
1·21 days agoMost of my life is hack. People call them ‘optimisers’ these days. I can’t do anything without thinking about how I could do it faster, cheaper, better. I suppose one of my biggest blunders was using heroin in place of ADHD medication. It works great for ADHD but the side effects are a total nightmare.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there a more politically conservative part of the fediverse?
01·3 years agoBeing a conservative must be a discombobulating experience in the technological age. The conservative is attempting to prevent the progression of society and conserve what we currently have or even revert to a bygone era.
OP arrives at a brand new platform, a piece of technology that didn’t exist a short while ago and requests a space to assemble people who don’t like change.

They put him in prison for being a whistleblower so he at least has some scruples.
