What he was doing in and of itself wasn’t bad, but it was ignoring the shrinking enthusiasm of the democratic base and the growing of the maga rhetoric. It reinforces the pendulum effect of letting the right wing swing back instead of giving the left a whole new momentum.

Yeah, similar for me. A big party we were all going to was starting around the same time the splashdown was happening and a majority were stopped, watching on their phones. Groups huddled in the parking lot, buzzing conversations. I was pretty surprised by it.
Does any part of this suggest otherwise?
I used to be completely sober all the way through my 30s. I tried things later and they really helped me see life from different angles. I didn’t try shrooms until I felt I was ready. They are easily one of the best things that ever happened to me. I would not suggest trying them unless you feel comfortable, are in a very familiar environment, and you have a trustworthy, caring friend to keep you company.

Chinatown holds up so well to modern viewing. Incredible film. When I first watched it I had already heard that last line used over and over as a joke in general culture. Hearing that line for the first time in context is like a punch to the gut. One of the best endings ever.
I got a hoop. Kids from blocks around played on it. City shut it down.
I definitely heard a record scratch and forgot the rest of the comment when I hit that. Not exactly an innocent “for all intensive purposes.”
