I remember when someone posted about Bookracy here and people said it was giving them “bad vibes”, and the slogan is also “Why pay for knowledge?”. I think it’s kind of weird. it’s too organized and supported by “CloakGPT”. But their books are downloading. What do you think?

Since Anna’s Archive is being a bit lackluster with the books. Couldn’t download one, pdf came broken, etc. , I think it’s nice to have options. Do you still think Bookracy is kind of weird?

Try “Contemporary Religious Satanism” and see if it works for you. You’ll find all the problems I’ve mentioned.

Is it a problem to want more options? To want a distributed network of available books for knowledge? Does everything needs to be concentrated in Anna’s Archive? Does it seem without failures to you?

Search for the same book in z-lib. Copyright claims have removed the book!

Don’t you agree people should resist more about this instead of letting everything for the hands of Anna’s Archive? Does this make sense to you?

The whole point of AA is that it’s not centralized, or “left in their hands.” The software is open source and all the data and metadata is hosted via torrents, so anyone with enough space can just spin up a mirror with everything intact.

As for the book you mentioned, I was able to download it via a slow mirror in around 6 minutes (4mb file), no issues at all. As I did not actually read the book, though, I have no idea whether anything is wrong with the contents, but a quick scroll through gives no issues.

I haven’t tested Bookcracy at all, but a quick glance doesn’t look like it’s open source or really tell me where the books are from (might be from the AA torrents!), so I will just stick to AA, personally. Especially since they are also not listed on any of the shadow library tracking pages (like SLUM).

I’m sorry to hear that you are having issues with AA, but I was just adding the counterpoint that I have had no such issues overall, and anyone who has the same experience may upvote my comment as they wish.

Funny enough, I didn’t have a problem getting your book from Anna’s. I could not find a version on Bookracy that would download

Bookracy leaves me feeling squeamish. I don’t know what CloakGPT is, but it sounds disgusting. And while I do agree that knowledge should be free, their vibecoded app can’t even filter by language when their books are tagged as such.

I agree that knowledge should be decentralized and distributed. I don’t think this is it though
