Why? Why is everybody renaming their project after years of building up reputation?
From the rationale, the name PostmarketOS was too difficult for the average user to recognize and pronounce out loud, even when abbreviated to pmOS.
pmOS is a terrible shortening.
it’s also what peppermint uses in some places.
It also couldn’t be trademarked and was misleading for hardware like the PinePhone that shipped with the OS pre-installed.
