The US EV maker only began delivering the Cybertruck to customers in late 2023. According to Kelley Blue Book, the company only sold 20,237 Cybertrucks in the US last year, down 48% from 38,965 in 2024. Before the pickup truck launched, Musk had predicted annual sales of 250,000 units.
…
In response to a user on X, Musk called the Cybertruck the “best vehicle Tesla has ever made” and the wind-down the “end of an era”.

Even completely beyond Elon’s personal fuckheadery, which really shouldn’t be dismissed, it was still a bad product:
- poor fit and finish
- frequent recalls
- poor durability, including cheaping out on the stainless alloy for one that’s barely worthy of the name
- poor truck functionality for the few who would want to use it that way
- pricier than expected
- took a concept design we might generously call polarizing and pooped the production version out the anus of their design process looking less like a Martian armored personnel carrier and more like an unpainted Pontiac Aztek.
My personal favorite: cast aluminum frame.
What are you, a fucking idiot? Get out of here with your cast frames fake news bullshit. Cybertrucks have Gigacast aluminum frames. You see, it’s exactly like casting, but that’s it. It’s casting.
Tbf most of the Tesla recalls are just software updates, but that’s just how the NHTSA does it
I would gently counter that while many of them can be fixed in software, the list is mostly hardware issues or real driving risks. It’s a shoddy vehicle that was also poorly coded.
Honestly surprised it sold more than 1k total.

I have yet to see one being driven by a woman. Yesterday I saw one being driven by a man with an uncanny resemblance to the South Park WOW player stereotype. Even with all that car around he looked squished.
Ooh! I saw one driven by a woman a month ago at 7/11. It was shocking. Yes, most of the time it’s a single male in driver seat though. lmfao
