It doesn’t help that eating healthy is more expensive, either in money or time and that junk food manufacturers literally get you addicted to their garbage.

Was scrolling to see if anyone else had made this point. Yesterday me and the family had a Sunday Roast. Chicken, roast potatoes, mash, cabbage and carrots, stuffing, and yorkshire puddings. Costs about £20 depending which shop you go to. For the most part, a healthy meal (granted the puds and roasties are indulgent) and can feed a family or you could make it and have leftovers for days. For £3-6 you can have the frozen ready-meal version which is pumped full of preservatives and shite, and is unhealthy as fuck. If you’re strapped for cash the choice is simple.

I can see the argument coming that it’s a shit example so let’s take a look at another.

      Salmon & Grilled Vegetables.

Fresh Salmon - £6-8 Fresh Veg - £3-4 Time to make: 40 mins? Give or take.

      Same meal, microwave-cooked:

£3-4 Time to make: 4 mins

One of them is calorie rich, low nutrient, packed with salt and additives, so unhealthy as fuck. Can you guess which one?

      It’s really not…

Lettuce is still cheap and it always will be.

manufacturers literally get you addicted to their garbage.

It doesn’t take long to change your gut biome, once that happens you stop having to work against yourself.

And before that happens, you still can’t eat as much junk because salad take a long time to digest so your stomach is physically full.
