As a German, I am very much ashamed for my government. Our ‘reason of state’ (Staatsräson) should not be about protecting Israel, but about preventing fascism & genocides.
It is really baffling how Israel is commiting war crime after war crime, inflicting destruction, death, and suffering on a systematic scale, and we’re implicitly applauding them for that. And also actively supporting that with such weapon deals. WTF?!
This has long turned from mere targeted defensive operations into an unjustified invasion. Netanjahu is wanted for war crimes by the international court of justice. A court that we Germans supposedly respect and adhere to. But the actions our shitty government is taking speak a different language and one must be a special kind of highly brain washed to not see that.
I wouldn’t go as far as to equate this to Nazis, but one does start to wonder whether we have traded in one kind of racism for the other. I do not have many more explanations otherwise. Fear of diplomatic issues with Trumpistan? I do no longer understand the motive here.
