(I believe) It is a story about mental health, no more no less. And while the topic was tackled with a lot of humour it still always came back to some form of mental health struggle each episode.
The whole abstracting thing being a convenient replacement for dying by suicide doesn’t really sit right with me but then again I probably wasn’t the intended audience anyways.
Honestly? I think if Goosworx wanted to make a cartoon diving into the topic than they did great.
Extra thought
Though I can understand your frustration, I belive TADC was never meant to be a deep piece of media filled with lore like the FNAF franchise or like Helluva Boss or smth.
I agree with this. I would go so far as to say people who refused to emphasise with Jax in the last episode, in a show that’s all about emphasising with unlikeable people, failed the challenge.
kinda harsh. I think the series overall is a fine piece of art. It was a predictable ending but resolved with enough skill to not feel disappointing. Probably my biggest critique is that it becomes less and less funny as the series goes on. I get that it’s trying to deal with mature themes about emotions and trauma but you can still tackle those themes and tell jokes.
Hey kinda liked it, mainly that sour resolution for some characters was nice. Would like to know what you didn’t like and also I didn’t saw/played anything besides the glitch show.
So what’s the hot take? You didn’t say anything except calling it wasted potential.
they didnt delve it into the 90s aesthetic they also didn’t delve lore wise most character development on other characters was either put on jax or the time for it was spent on things that are unnecessary for the whole story (gummigoo) there was also not much time for spending on what characters they did developed which i understand they are an indie studio but with the amount of views and money glitch got in merch them and Goose should’ve invested this money into expanding beyond 9 episodes
Is part of your take,
“Time spent on Gummigoo was unnecessary for the whole story”?
Can you explain your thoughts on this?
because they introduced a character with a whole plot for the episode only for him to die instantly as shock humor it’s very cheap in my opinion
Hmm, yeah, you and I see very very different things in the show.
For me, Gummygoo was one of the pylons, that made the show what it is.
Even just functionally for the plot, his death(murder) fucked Pomni up, being one of the most important parts (and triggers) of her character growth, leading to everything else that Pomni made happen in the show. (It also gave characterization for Cain, but that’s just characterization, not plot, so yeah)
But I guess each person sees and cares about different parts of an art work.
I agree with you, I thought Gummygo was critical to the development of Pomni and the overall plot. It showed how flawed Cain was, how fuzzy the line between “human” and “AI” was, as well as generally just setting the mood.
Edit: I also didn’t see him being deleted by Cain as a joke. It really helps show how serious the stakes are for everyone.
Glitch existed since 2017 though
I will forever find it deeply concerning the “vocal” “fandom” internet hated the rabbit so damn bad all things considered but instantly forgave Caine what with the torture.
What is TADC and who is Glitch?
The Amazing Digital Circus is a show, Glitch is a video production company.
The jax show tm
