Vance himself promoted unsubstantiated claims about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, in September 2024, spreading misinformation about the community abducting and eating pets.

No the FBI changed the definition of violent crime under Biden administration and have specifically ignored certain areas to bias the numbers.
Even if we pretend that is true, the statement you are responding to is about statistics that predate Biden… by decades. Violent crime has been going down since the 90s. On average people are probably safer today than they were fifty or even thirty years ago.
