    Huh, I thought oils went rancid because of oxygen? I didn’t think cold slowed that process for oils very much.

      i think there was a law that 10°C temperature difference cuts the reaction rate of biochemistry in half.

      Cold slows many chemical reactions, including this one. Nuts will last even longer in the freezer.

      Removing them from an oxygen environment will also slow the reaction.
