2 movies, a series, an animated series, and now another movie. We get it Seth, you like Ted but please maybe consider more Orville?

I’d even be fine with a crossover arc. I personally liked how they played the first season for laughs. I also like the more serious seasons as well though.

They could basically do some kind of Toy Story knock off with sentient alien toys, where Ted gets to be the unwilling ambassador.

Could not agree more. Frankly, it’s probably affected how much I enjoy The Orville, though I do enjoy it and think it’s his best work. His sensibilities are so narrow and he is allergic to anything approaching subtlety or drawing humor out of characters. Everything he does that’s intended to be funny is just a bludgeon of robotic zingers and a very specific subset of Gen X pop culture references.

I feel like he was sent by Disneycorp from the future to dumb down comedy. Yeah I feel you about the references, I’m GenX too and believe you me I love a good reference but if it’s like a mini gun of references blasting your face off it loses all value and coziness.

If I’m in the mood for cringe humor sure. But most of the time I want something more sophisticated.

Seth has been pretty honest about why he made the series, Peacock wheeled up a truck full of money. The second season was clearly a finale (although you could weasel out of it with a joke). However it’s clear with the viewership numbers, they’re pulling up another truck of money.

That isn’t to say Seth is half-assing the show. Seth writes a good sitcom.

… I just wish Seth would focus on The Orville.
